Kailash Kumar / Bokaro. Gangaur Sweets located at Chas Dharamshala Mod of Bokaro is famous for Parwal sweets. Parwal’s sweet made here is very special. People come here from far and wide to buy it. Parwal’s pulp is removed and khoya is filled in its place, then the whole parwal is dipped in sugar syrup and given the form of a sweet, hence the name Parwal Mithai. People eat it with great fervor.
Shop owner Amit told Local 18 that Parwal sweets are being made at his shop for the last 25 years. People like it very much. The shop was started by his father Vinod Prasad Chowdhary. Now Amit is running it. He told that apart from Parwal sweets, 25 other types of sweets are available at the shop. But there is a special demand for parwal sweets.
Regarding the process of making parwal sweets, Amit told that first of all better quality parwal is procured from the market. Then it is peeled well and cut in the middle. With the help of a spoon, the fleshy part of the parwal is taken out and separated. After that Parwal is boiled in hot water and dipped in sugar syrup. Then khoya is filled in it. In this way parwal sweets are prepared.
Amit told that Parwal sweets are Rs.21 per piece. Along with eating it, people also get it packed for home or relatives. The shop remains open daily from 08:00 AM to 09:30 PM. On the other hand, the customer Saurabh Kumar, who was relishing Parwal sweets at the shop, told that this sweet of this shop is quite unique. I eat it with great gusto. It is available in very few places.
